Why We Might Not Have to Worry About Libs Taking Our Guns

The Fourth of July is great for many things: barbecues, fireworks, beer, overt displays of patriotism, and spending time with friends and family. It’s also a fantastic time for meme connoisseurs like us, and this was one of our favorites to come out of the holiday.

In recent months, we’ve seen a big push from the American left to essentially strip the Second Amendment from the Constitution — ignoring the fact that it is that very amendment that guarantees the rest of the document. Young liberal icons like Parkland school shooting survivor David Hogg took an aggressive direction in calling for gun control and stumping for the left, and for a time it felt like Americans could truly lose their God-given right to self-preservation.

Then, a Gallup poll revealed how Americans truly felt about the issue, and Hogg and friends faded out of the media spotlight. While Americans by and large seem easily motivated in the wake of a tragedy, the fact of the matter is that we are not the type of people to simply trade in our civil rights for a vague sense of security.

Considering our country’s heritage, this isn’t a surprise, and the image included here perfectly explains this.
