Reminder: This is What Candidate Obama Said About Jerusalem

Here’s something the American left wants all of us to forget…

During former President Obama’s first White House bid in 2008, the then-Illinois Senator referred to the city of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel — almost mirroring the Trump administration’s decision to make it official earlier this week.

This reminder comes in the wake of Trump’s apparently controversial decision, which critics have suggested will lead to more sectarian violence in the region. As part of the move, the White House also announced plans to move its embassy in the Jewish state to the declared capitol.

As the historic home of the Jewish people, Jerusalem holds a special significance for followers of the faith. While Christians and Muslims alike also regard the city as holy land, their reasons for doing so have been definitively traced back to their Jewish influence.

So, remember this the next time someone alleges that Trump’s decision was as abhorrent as they claim it is.
