Trump vs. Obama: Who is the Better Negotiator?

Today, as the United States government pushes forward with the unthinkable by mending hostilities with one of the most hostile nations on the planet, let’s take a moment and reflect on former President Barack Obama’s spectacular negotiation skills.

Now, you might be asking yourself: “Barack Obama? Isn’t that the guy who traded five terrorists in exchange for a deserter?”

Yes. We’re talking about the same person — who also masterfully locked the United States in a deal that essentially asked Iran to just hold off on its nuclear ambitions for ten years in exchange for a bunch of cash. This was also the same president who saw no issue with signing off on the Paris Climate Agreement, which basically lumped all financial responsibility to the United States while asking the rest of the world for nothing.

As you can probably tell by now, President Donald Trump handles negotiations a bit differently. The media might be pretending to be outraged over the president’s seemingly friendly language when referring to North Korean despot Kim Jong-Un now, but they forget this comes after years of the president mocking and shaming him on a week-to-monthly basis. As a simple reminder, North Korea has been brought to the negotiating table after releasing a number of prisoners.

Let’s face it, when it comes to negotiations, there is no comparison between Trump and his predecessor.
