The Left’s Attacks on Kavanaugh are Pretty Ridiculous

Judge Brett Kavanaugh, who was tapped by President Donald Trump to replace outgoing Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, has endured an array of vicious attacks from the left, and his confirmation hearing hasn’t even started yet.

Most of these attacks have been pretty predictable. After all, Kavanaugh has espoused a strict textual approach to Constitutional law, meaning he will likely be an obstacle for the Democrats’ attempts to legislate law from the bench. Judicial activism is a hallmark for the political left, and at times seems to be the only way progressives are able to justify their extra-constitutional policy goals.

Some of these attacks, however, have been nothing if not petty and personal. For example, the judge has been slandered for his Catholic religious background — not exactly a fringe belief system. He has also been slandered for defending the Second Amendment, which as we’ve pointed out many times, guarantees every other Amendment.

Beyond this have been smears on the fact that he likes baseball and used credit cards to purchase tickets. This attack is laughable at its very best, and does nothing to discredit his judicial philosophy or service record as a judge. Apparently, this doesn’t stop the left from moving forward with this approach anyway…
