The Democrat Shutdown Explained for Stupid People

This might be the best way to explain the shutdown we’ve ever seen…

At the time of writing, the federal government remains in a state of partial shutdown — the longest in American history — because Congress will not agree to give President Donald Trump his requested funding for building a border wall. Both sides have rested their political futures on the outcome of this, with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi continually pledging that she will not budge one inch on the issue.

Now, we all remember how the wall was the cornerstone of President Trump’s campaign. “Build the wall!” was probably one of the most popular chants heard at Trump rallies, besides maybe “lock her up!” Clearly, this was an issue that mattered to a lot of Americans. And as new polling data shows, support for a border wall has risen considerably since the shutdown began.

The president’s critics have said that he is effectively throwing a tantrum by holding firm on his request for funding, but when you look at the optics of what’s really going on here, Pelosi looks more childish than anyone. As this graphic explains, the president really isn’t asking for a whole lot…
