We’re willing to be you haven’t seen this picture before — and we’re willing to bet much more that none of your liberal friends have either.
Che Guevara, the romanticized communist revolutionary famous for his activism in Cuba and other South American countries, has been depicted by Hollywood and contemporary culture as some sort of progressive icon. His picturesque photo has been appropriated for t-shirts and various other clothing items — many of which are worn by would-be edgy youths.
To justify this, liberals love to reference how Cubans now have access to healthcare and education their pre-revolutionary elders did not have. What they fail to mention are the scores of mass killings in which Che was personally involved.
Che was more than a communist revolutionary that fought the Batista regime in the 1950s. After Fidel Castro took control of the island country, Che was instrumental in eliminating the despot’s political enemies — which were not only limited to the upper class.
This is the image this murderer should be remembered by.
