Believe us when we tell you that we’re sick of writing about this woman. We’re sick of her getting primetime, mainstream news coverage, and we’re sick of how her dangerous ideas that were once considered fringe are now accepted by the bulk of the Democratic establishment.
But, we can’t ignore her. House Representatives face re-election every two years, but AOC hails from a deep blue district where her views aren’t mocked, they are celebrated. So, we’re going to have to deal with her for a long time. And yes, she’s probably going to run for president at some point when she’s old enough.
Imagine: a 29-year-old former bartender who spent a lot of money to get a useless undergraduate degree is now one of the most influential figures in American politics. This speaks more to the state of our national discourse than it does to this Congresswoman’s competence — or even to the people that actually elected her.
The right has a lot of work to do in getting its messaging down, or else we’re looking at a lot more people like this getting elected in the future.
