What is the definition of “bravery?”
Is it scores of young men charging onto a beach under a hail of Nazi machine gun fire to liberate an entire continent? Is it refusing to give up your seat because you will not tolerate racist discrimination? Is it taking up arms against the most powerful empire in the world to ensure your children live to see a country that protects the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness for all?
Nope. It’s none of that stuff. It’s a multi-millionaire celebrity strolling up to a podium in a room packed with leftists to scream obscenities about a man everyone in front of him already hates.
Robert De Niro’s latest stunt ant the Tony Awards ceremony garnered some quick headlines, none of which made any political impact whatsoever. Sure, screaming “F–k Trump!” might have been a brave thing to do at, say, a Trump rally, but let’s be honest about what actually happened here: some self-important elitist wanted a quick photo-op, so he took the path of least resistance. The best part is that the left-wing media treated him like a hero for it.
If this is really the definition of bravery for leftists in 2018, it’s really no wonder why no one cares about award shows anymore.
