Kamala Harris Called Out for Historical Ignorance on the 4th of July

While most Americans were busy being proud to be Americans on Independence Day, progressive politicians spent the time trying to push their failed political agenda. As always, the Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro was there to throw the counter-punch.

As seen here, the California senator made a bold claim which was quickly disproven. According to Harris, the Declaration of Independence was signed entirely by “dreamers” who just wanted to come to America for a better life. The clear implication here is that Republicans are evil for wanting to control the border.

Shapiro accurately points out that everything Harris said was incorrect. Considering the British Empire at the time comprised of the entire British Isles as well as the American colonies themselves, every person who signed the Declaration of Independence would have been considered a naturalized citizen. In other words, exactly zero immigrants penned their name on the document.

This isn’t to suggest that immigrants to America haven’t made incredible contributions to the country’s history and development. They have. But blindly ignoring history to promote a political agenda is patently stupid.
