Is it Racist for Prisons to Have Walls Too?

At the time of writing, the government shutdown that began before Christmas is still in effect — with neither President Trump nor Democratic lawmakers budging over funding for the president’s proposed wall along the southern border.

Democrats have made an egregious tactical error here — not only do most Americans support the idea that we need tougher border security measures, but leaders have actual tried making the argument that walls don’t even work. Forget everything they’ve said about walls being racist or something — this is one of the dumbest things Democrats have ever said.

Of course walls work. They’ve worked for thousands of years. They worked for Chinese dynasties in keeping out Mongolian hordes. They worked for Roman legions trying to fend off the Pict tribes after conquering a province they called “Britannia”. In the modern day, they currently work for the Vatican, Israel, and larger countries.

You don’t even need to understand geo-politics at all to see the logical stupidity here. If walls are really unnecessary, why do we have them in prisons? Maybe we should just take them all down — nothing will happen, right?
