ABC News Went Above and Beyond to Look This Stupid

If the major broadcasters were this diligent in fact-checking all American presidents, just imagine what the country would be like today…

Actually, after looking at what counted as a “fact-check”, we take that back. Perhaps it’s better that the media only rediscovered its purpose in American democracy when Donald Trump became president.

Apparently, purely subjective opinions count as “facts” that need to be checked.

When President Trump touched on immigration during his State of the Union address, he put out a far more composed tone than he normally does. Of course, those who support him already know that Trump is totally fine with legal immigration — and who isn’t? Immigrants at the end of the day are people who want to become Americans. That’s an amazing thing, and Trump clearly understands and appreciates that. Hell, this is basically First Lady Melania Trump’s life story.

But alas, this statement was “false” according to ABC News. We’re not sure who is actually behind all of this genius journalism-ing, but he or she is definitely being paid too much.
