What Leftists Actually Mean When They Say “I’m Offended”

It’s official: the “Change My Mind” routine popularized by conservative commentator and comedian Steven Crowder is one of the most popular memes on social media — and this latest iteration is one of the best yet.

For those who haven’t had the pleasure of watching, the segment features Crowder sitting with college students who volunteer to attempt to change his mind about controversial issues. Segments have included prompts such as “I’m pro-gun, change my mind” and “I’m pro-life, change my mind.”

While most interactions seem civil and productive, conversations often turn hostile as students who are completely unprepared for handling real life struggle to make coherent arguments.

Now, what would a left-wing, social justice warrior version of the segment look like? The meme to the left gives us a pretty good idea. After all, if demonstrations by the likes of Antifa have been any indication, there is no effort coming from the radical left to honestly promote what they may see as good policy. If something offends them, it’s up to the rest of us to alter our worldview.
