The Liberal Dilemma on Kanye West’s Tweet Storm

As we’ve reported several times this week, hip-hop star Kanye West has broken the mold of celebrity elitism by coming out as a passionate Trump supporter on Twitter. Sadly, the left haven’t been able to use their favorite tactic to smear him for it — at least not effectively.

This meme helps explain exactly why liberals have been having a tough time dealing with the Kanye-Trump situation. West, a popular black performer, has been a de facto voice of the left as a result of his celebrity. In reality, Hollywood and media industry icons are almost expected to tout liberal talking points.

Of course, this doesn’t mesh well considering that the identitarian left has also been arguing that racism is a trait unique to white people. They have redefined racism from meaning a derision for another group of people based on their racial characteristics to an institutional power relationship.

This doesn’t work in the Kanye West situation. His music has been and still is widely celebrated by the black community, and his message to encourage his followers to think more independently is catching on. If this does result in a culture shift, it could mean that Democrats will never win an election ever again. This is what scares them the most…
